Meursault is the center of four communes that make up the Côte des Blancs, named for the predominantly white wines produced there. The vineyards lie on gentle slopes at 230 meters to 360 meters in elevation, with eastern exposure and chalky soil with white marl. A rich, full-bodied wine that is aromatic in its youth, offering white flowers, apples and hazelnuts. The wine will develop in the bottle for 8 to 15 years. Serve with rich white meats, fish and shellfish, especially in cream sauces.
