The Biondi Santi Schidione is the Super Tuscan every collector should own. Crafted by Jacopo Biondi Santi,whose family helped define Brunello di Montalcino, the 2016 Schidione is the estate’s flagship wine. The blend remains constant each year: 40% Sangiovese Grosso (BBS11 clone), 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Merlot, fermented separately and aged about two years in French Tronçais barriques before final blending. Built for longevity, it carries 40–50 years of aging potential, yet with nearly a decade in bottle it’s beginning to show its depth. This wine shows a brilliant ruby color, layered red fruit, refined structure, and a long, persistent finish worthy of its pedigree.
