Uccelliera Rosso di Montalcino is 100% Sangiovese grape
and crafted under the watchful eye of Andrea Cortonesi
who practices organic farming methods in his vineyards.
Once you start to pour the wine, aromas of black cherry
and strawberry rise up to greet you while showing off an
impeccable ruby color in the glass. Uccelliera wines are
rich, layered and beautifully textured with flavors of
red cherry and a touch of black pepper that gives the
wine some very defined spice. The Uccelliera Rosso boasts
a refined style and after the first sip there is no
arguing of the wine’s opulence. Located high on a hill
just south of Florence, the village of Montalcino is
surrounded by vineyards where the Sangiovese grape
thrives in the warm dry days and the cool breezy night.
Different from its big brother – Brunello di Montalcino
which age for four years – Rosso di Montalcino wines are
released after one year of aging.
