The grapes of Clos de la Crochette are usually the first to be picked on Lafon’s Mâconnais estate. The south- facing slope combined with the clay-limestone soil ripen the fruit to near perfection which gives this wine an enticing oyster-shell reduction reminiscent of a wine of Chablis. Beautifully scented with floral orchard fruit, one can easily pick up the notes of Williams pear, Cox apple and citrus on the nose.
