Though the Alexander Valley Cyrus is mostly made of the Cabernet Sauvignon grape, there are other grapes blended into this lively red, as it also has 20% Cabernet Franc as well as 7% Merlot, 5% Malbec, and finally 4% Petit Verdot. This wine is a Bordeaux Style blend of full bodied richness and firm structure. The first greeting you get from this wine upon pouring it into your glass is the dark purple color. This is immediately followed by intense earthy aromas of cassis and black cherry. In the mouth, flavors of dark chocolate, cherry and other dark fruit are encompassed by a smooth, silky texture. The superb balance of this wine leads seamlessly into a long and structured finish.
