Nestled on the steep slopes of Chinon, the 'Les Picasses' vineyard has been producing elegant Cabernet Franc for these past 50 years. Following a very traditional production method and adhering to her late grandmother Olga's organic and sustainable practices, winemaker Sylvia Raffault shows that the vineyard is in capable hands. The 2012 'Les Picasses' is a beautiful pink-red stone color, with ripe cherry on the nose, hints of lemon, soft tannins and minerals on the palate, and a light peppery finish. Though it drinks wonderfully on its own, this wine would do exceptionally well paired with savory lamb or a meaty pasta dish.
