From the northern part of the Loire we find Quincy, a small appellation along the banks of the river Cher. The relatively warm/dry climate is perfect for the Sauvignon Blanc grape which grows throughout the region. The pale yellow color is the first characteristic you notice followed by a bright, fresh lemon on the nose and slight crispness to the flavor all structured around a mineral backbone. The Mardon family uses organic practices and does not use any herbicides and use only natural yeasts during fermentation.
