As bold and attention-grabbing as Theodore Roosevelt and his war party and political party of the same names, the Rough Rider Bull Moose Rye is aged in three separate, specially selected casks that leave a little more character as the whisky jumps from wooden barrel to wooden barrel. New American oak gives it its spicy-sweet cinnamon, whereas the next barrel, which once housed straight bourbon, allows any remaining bourbon in the wood to mingle with the rye. Finally, the third and last barrel, which once had Pin Barrens Single Malt Whisky, leaves the final product with a crisp, fruity sweetness on the nose and a spice, caramel, vanilla, and blackberry combination on the palate. A warm, toasty, velvet finish completes a drinking experience even Teddy would be proud to drink.
