Another winner from the Paul Hobbs Winery, the Crossbarn Anderson Valley Pinot Noir offers impeccable structure, weight, and balance in every glass. Different in climate from its Sonoma counterpart, the Anderson Valley region is a small gem of an area where the Pinot Noir grape truly flourishes. The hand-harvested fruit is aged for ten months in oak barrels and fermented using native and select yeast. The result of all this expert care is a wine that is ruby red in color with an aroma of brambly wild berries, black tea and touch of sandalwood. On the tongue, the satin texture has layers of bing cherry with a classic earthy undertone. With a finish that is long and ripe along with velvety tannins and slight minerality makes one think of how this wine would pair perfectly with many of your spring lamb recipes.
